Edward has been in Chicago for more than 20 years now and around no one that speaks in an Irish accent...I would imagine that through time, education, and then running CP, the accent he had when he was child has disappeared.

I need help in understanding Esme and Carlisle. After reading the outtake www.fanfiction.net/s/6775647/1/The_Greatest_Gift_Outtakes_and_Deleted_ScenesI just don't understand WHY they didn't do more for him. They say they noticed that he looked like he had never been in an ice cream shop. Esme said his clothes were too small. He was practically a mute. Edward ripping down the baseball posters had to have given them an idea that something was WRONG. They had to have known how William was. All grumpy and gruff and poopy! So WHY allow, which is what they did, this broken child to be whisked away with William, and not do more to help him? I get so angry with Carlisle and Esme for failing Edward when he was young and I just don't understand their thinking!!! |

I know it's hard to understand and when we get to the chapters where Edward's past comes to light, you might get a better understanding but what I can tell you in the meantime is this...both of them were dealing with their own feelings of guilt and anger and as people, not everyone of course, but a lot of people are apt to do, they got wrapped up in their own feelings and didn't pay as close attention to Edward as they should have.
There are plenty of underlying reasons, none of which will be good enough of course, but all the answers will be shown shortly.

You will definitely be seeing more of Alec...in Chp 19 especially. I am really excited about that! Marcus...I'm not quite as sure about...but you will get some more about both their back story's.
